Art Farm at Serenbe is excited to announce that Little Shop of Horrors will premiere this September as part of the Under the Tent Series in Serenbe. Little Shop of Horrors, written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken and loosely based on the 1960 film of the same name, follows the story of Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant who accidentally grows a man-eating carnivorous plant, leading to chaos and violence. The show, which originally premiered Off-Broadway in 1982, became a cult classic beloved for its dark humor, campy charm, and memorable musical score.
Art Farm is partnering with Matt Logan Productions out of Nashville, Tennessee to produce a version of the show adapted specifically for the traveling big-top tent. The performance will feature innovative staging by director Matt Logan (Studio Tenn, The Hiding Place) and a brand-new concept design from the MA2LA creative team, also based in Nashville. Art Farm’s Under the Tent Series launched in 2023, drawing audiences from Atlanta and beyond for a two-week run of electrifying performances, including a circus show by Les Farfadais underneath a traveling big-top tent.
We hope you’re hungry for a truly special production and a bloody good time Under the Tent! Little Shop of Horrors will run in Serenbe from September 20-29. Stay tuned for cast announcements and more details!
Tickets will go on sale in March. Subscribe to Art Farm's newsletter for first access to ticket sales when they become available.
