Renowned composer Kenny Banks delivering an electrifying performance in Serenbe !

Renowned composer, arranger, and performer Kenny Banks shines in the second installment of Art Farm’s Jazz Series, delivering an unforgettable night of jazz in Serenbe.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Kenny’s musical journey began at the age of seven, rooted in the church before evolving into formal training at Central State University. After graduating, he taught vocal music in Columbus Public Schools before fully pursuing his passion—touring as a clinician, keyboardist, musical director, and producer across the U.S. and beyond.

Kenny has made notable television appearances on BET and the Image Awards and has performed at prestigious events, including the inauguration and United Nations Ceremony for President Barack Obama. His dynamic performances continue to captivate audiences worldwide, often sharing the stage with international recording artist Lizz Wright.

Beyond collaborations, Kenny also leads his own projects, including Hymns of Comfort and Truly Free, further showcasing his depth and artistry.

More About Kenny Banks:

Kenny Banks has graced some of the world’s most renowned stages, including the Jools Holland Television Show in England, Tiny Desk, BET, and the Image Awards. His iconic performances at the inauguration and the United Nations Ceremony for President Barack Obama underscore his global impact, resonating across prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Philharmonie in Berlin. His talents have also been featured on the big screen, with appearances in Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys and his collaborative composition, "Hello Love" with Kathleen Bertrand, which was featured in the GMC movie Raising Izzie.

Kenny has shared the stage with an extraordinary roster of acclaimed artists, including Jimmy Heath, Wess Anderson, Earl Klugh, Kathleen Bertrand, Lizz Wright, Rene Marie, Russell Gunn, Pharez Whitted, Kevin Mahogany, Kirk Whalum, Albertina Walker, Dorothy Norwood, Byron Cage, Jennifer Holliday, Aretha Franklin, and even the prestigious Philadelphia Orchestra. His extensive collaborations reflect the depth and versatility of his musical artistry.

Kenny earned his Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University and currently resides in Atlanta with his wife, Angelia, and their three children, Kenny Jr., Sydney, and Sasha. He serves as accompanist, chorale director, and chief musician at The Cascade United Methodist Church. Expanding his creative pursuits, he has recently ventured into videography, producing over 100 virtual choir videos for various artists, ensembles, and choirs.

In addition to his solo work, Kenny frequently collaborates with Atlanta’s Kathleen Bertrand, performing at distinguished jazz venues. He also complements the artistry of acclaimed trumpet virtuoso Joe Gransden, with their collective musical brilliance culminating in the harmonious duo album Dichotomy
