Join us at Art Farm at Serenbe for Academy Award-nominated VIVA VERDI!, a special Film Showcase Weekend centered on storytelling, shared experience, and meaningful dialogue. Across two days, guests are invited to engage with the film through an intimate farm-to-table dinner with the filmmakers and a community screening with post-film conversation.
The Academy Award-nominated VIVA VERDI! feature documentary, is an intimate glimpse into the lives of the celebrated opera singers and musicians living out their “third act” - actively ageing creatively and passionately while mentoring international music students who live among them at Milan’s unique retirement home, Casa Verdi, built by renowned opera composer Giuseppe Verdi in 1896. Verdi provided a place like no other, where aging artists can live with dignity, passion and purpose, a place where their talent can live on. VIVA VERDI! follows the lives of these distinguished masters, 'guests of Verdi,’ age 77 to 107, comprised of international opera singers, ballet dancers, musicians, conductors and composers, who share an extraordinary array of personal and professional stories filled with music, magic, and passion, and ultimately learn why Verdi called this remarkable home his “best work.”
VIVA VERDI! compels audiences to engage in discussion around the powerful convergence of art, aging, music, and intergenerational dialogue.
As one viewer recently said, “seeing the film was a much-needed needed pause for joy — a kind of 'spa day’ for the spirit."
